Raffles students participating on the Lineapelle, Young Designer Contest in Bologna, Italy. This is one of the most famous contests for leather products for new designers and over 40,000 visitors come and see this exhibition from all over the world. The visitors will vote on the best designs.

Raffles Education Corporation named among Top 200 Best Under a Billion for the 4th Consecutive Year

Raffles Education Corp has been named as one of the Top 200 Asia-Pacific companies on the Forbes Asia's "Best Under a Billion" list for the 4th consecutive year (2006 – 2009). The five companies that made the cut this year – Boustead Singapore, Ezra Holdings, Midas, Raffles Education and Thomson Medical Centre – were from vastly different sectors. They were familiar faces, also seen in last year’s list.
Raffles students’ film “The 4th” has been officially selected for the “International Student Film Festival Hollywood”.

We are delighted to inform you that our Raffles students’ film “The 4th” – made by Đo Khoa (eNKee Nguyen), Le Thi Nhu Anh, Nguyen Uy Vu, Nguyen Hoang Duy & Truong Thang Khoa has been chosen as an “Official Selection” of the International Student Film Festival Hollywood, taking place in the NOHO Arts District of North Hollywood, CA USA November 7 - 8, 2009. Of over 250 submissions they received from students across the globe, this film stood out as one of the best.

A field trip in the Independence Palace

On 16th September, business class of lecturer Julio had a field trip in the Independence Palace. This was a chance for students to communicate with foreigners to improve their knowledge. When observed the pictures and objects on display students also understood more about Viet Nam’s history.

The said Open House imparted to all the participants the success of Raffles HCMC and why it has been continually attracting many students in Vietnam. Participants were given the chance to become students at Raffles for a day by joining the free workshops that were delivered by lecturers from the various departments.

Raffles HCMC campus has organized successful Raffles Media Expo last August 29th, 2009. More than 150 students and parents were in attendance. Participants have enjoyed our first public exhibition of our Visual Communication and Multimedia Students products such as short films, experimental videos, animations, photography and graphics.

On 28th August, lecturer Julio and his students had a field trip to textile exhibition in district 7. At this exhibition, students interviewed business men and women and got more experience about their successful strategies. Beside study theory, this activity was a good chance for students to improve their knowledge.
Aquafina Pure Fashion – Kick off event

On the opening night of the Aquafina Pure Fashion Contest at the Rex Hotel on 21st August 2009, our student Mr. Nguyen Quoc Anh Vuong had the honour of presenting one of collections to be shown during the show beside famous leading designers in Vietnam including Cong Tri, Thuan Viet, Ngo Thai Uyen. The winner at the 2nd prize in the Aquafina Pure Fashion Contest 2008 – Fashion designer Anh Vuong - with the collection "Black Secret" has left a deep impression and showed a new look great wear ability... This collection was especially fascinating with the performance of models Thanh Hang, Trang Nhung, Phung Ngoc Yen, Quynh Trang, Thu Hang ...

SIFE, Student In Free Enterprise was formally introduced last June 08, 2009 at Raffles International College. A meeting was held to introduce and encourage the student body to participate in the said project.
Winning Streak Continues at Animania 2009

Interactive Media Design alumni Nguyen Doan Bao Toan, Toni (Champion) picked up more trophies at Animania 2009, an annual animation competition organised by CreativeBITS. Last year, Toni took home the top award for his animation, and have undoubtedly sealed his status as the ones to beat.
“To Be a Fashion Designer” on VTC9- Let’s Viet TV channel

The Film crew of VTC9-Let’s Viet channel has finished their 3-day-shooting at Raffles for the TV program named “The Gioi Tre”, a Youth targeted program which is produced in Reality style. This program will features life and trends of the Youth in Vietnam through many topics. This week’s topic will be “TO BE A FASHION DESIGNER”. The life and work of Fashion Design Lecturers and students in Raffles International College will be featured. Two MC – Hai Yen and Sy Luan will help the young audiences find out more about the Industry, why it has attracted more and more people. This program will be on air at 21:30, 3 June 2009, Tuesday and repeat at 18:00, 7 June 2009, Sunday on VTC9 Let’s Viet Channel

Congratulations to level 4 ESL students for their achievements on their IELTS examinations, on behalf of Edmund Hwong, Director of Raffles International College. Last February 17, students from level 4 partook in the IELTS exam and scored between 5.5 and 6, an achievement that highlights the importance of learning and the continuous research on how to develop and hone the students English skills here at Raffles.

“Opulence” Graduation Exhibition - Raffles International College

Raffles International College celebrated the graduation of their 18 newest Advanced Diploma students with a graduation fashion show on the 24th of February 2009 at HCMC's Park Hyatt Hotel. Present at the ceremony were representatives of sponsors; Shiseido and Aquafina, and members of the media and fashion industry. Professor Branson delivered the commencement address and presented the students with their diplomas. We wish our recent grads all the success in their future endeavors.
