James completed his bachelor’s degree in Chinese and then lived in Taipei, Taiwan for over 7 years teaching English, primarily to adults. One interesting exception was teaching middle school ESL in the Taipei Japanese School as a result of extensive contact with the Japanese community in Taipei. He began his English teaching career at the American Institute in Taiwan, and taught in the extension programs in National Taiwan University and Chinese Cultural University. James also developed an impressive client list while consulting and coaching to business and management objectives for multinational companies including Acer, ICI-Dulux, KPMG, President Enterprises, and Watson-Wyatt International. After returning to the US and completing his Master’s degree in Language and Communication with emphasis on Adult Learning, Training and Development, he realized that he wanted to work again in East Asia to help goal-oreiented and hardworking students to reach their potential. James joined the ESL team in the academic department at Raffles International College in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam in February, 2009.
