Winner of the Triumph Inspiration Awards 2010

28 April 2010 saw twelve fashion students showcasing their lingeriedesigns at Amore
Living fitness and spa club at City Square Mall. By interpreting thisyear’s design theme of
“Shape Sensation”, the students competed for the honour of representingSingapore at the
Triumph Inspiration Awards Final held in the fashion metropolis ofLondon in September
this year.

The showpieces were presented in a fabulous catwalk to a panel of five distinguished judges
well-immersed in the fashion industry. The question-and-answer sessions were engagingly
active, with our judges fielding questions ranging from relation to the theme, to design
technicalities like colour blocks, lines and silhouettes.

Grace Eliana Sugiarto, 22, from
Raffles Design Institute was
crowned as Singapore’s National
Winner, wowing the panel of
judges with her concept titled
“Preserved Beauty”.
Grace not only walked away
with cash and prizes worth up
to $2,000, she also gets an allexpenses
paid trip to represent
Singapore in the International
Final of the Triumph Inspiration
Final 2010, competing with
twenty-seven other national
representatives!

National Winner – Grace Eliana Sugiarto
Allowing a 1-piece lingerie comprising a bodysuit to be entered in the TIA for the first time in 2010 has inspired Grace. She
explains her piece eloquently, “Today’s bodysuits are inspired by the wrapping methods of mummification—but using nude
stockings instead of linen bandages. My inspiration was Pharaoh Hatshepsu, the first woman to rule Egypt and she brought
much prosperity, wealth and peace in her time! Although she has lived thousands years ago, she would be rocking the lingerie in
the other world.”
