The 1st Fashion & Product Design Workshop in Yangon

Raffles International College, Bangkok, in collaboration with theInternational Admission Office of Myanmar, organized a Fashion &Product Design workshop at Park Royal Hotel, Yangon.  This is the firstof its kind workshop in Myanmar, and Raffles is proud to be the 1stcollege to run this workshop.

 
On 21st Aug 2010, the workshop, which was also co-sponsored by BSC Cosmetology & Future Way Education Agent, proved to be a huge success as 80 students turned up alongside some television channels and newspapers.  The students were first given an introduction to studying internationally, followed by an introduction by Mr Adrian on studying with Raffles Bangkok and the programs Raffles offer.  Next, BSC Cosmetology did a brief demonstration on personal grooming for both genders.
 
The highlight of the day was the Fashion Design workshop, delivered by Raffles’ lecturers, Mr Tobias, and the Product Design workshop delivered by Mr Giuseppe.  Besides being able to obtain valuable tips on designing in these both areas, the participants also had an entertaining moment when they were asked to vote for the best t-shirt and product design at the end of the session.  4 winners received a souvenir from Raffles Bangkok.

   

This event provided valuable exposure to the Burmese students on studying in Bangkok and how attending design classes are like.  Among the participants, a few of them has make a decision to study in Raffles Bangkok after they graduate from high school.
 
The team from Raffles Bangkok also had the chance to visit ILBC, the most prestigious private school in Yangon.  Again the students benefited from the college introduction & design workshops.
